SMEs in Stockport and throughout Greater Manchester are being encouraged to make the most of a programme of support available to small businesses in the city-region.
The Skills for Growth – SME Support programme helps businesses identify the skills needed to grow by streamlining or improving existing products and services, innovating new offerings, exploring new markets, or developing the core skills needed for smooth day-to-day operations.
Skills for Growth has, since its launch in 2020, already been used by thousands of SMEs in Greater Manchester to identify their wider workforce and organisational needs to upskill their workforce and future proof their business.
The process is designed to be as efficient as possible and support businesses in the following areas:
- An initial conversation with you and our dedicated Skills Coach who will work with you to identify skills gaps within your business and the individuals that you feel will benefit from training
- The Skills Coach will then work with the selected employees to find the right course with the right provider in the right location and enrols them on their preferred course
- The training is open to any employee in any department at any level
- As part of the contract we have employed Health and Wellbeing specialists to help with this increasingly important area
Skills for Growth – SME Support is a fully funded, tailored service to help business in Greater Manchester upskill their workforce and improve productivity. Delivered by GC Business Growth Hub in partnership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the service is funded through the European Social Fund and commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Further information about eligibility for the programme and how to take part is available from the Skills for Growth SME website or download a brochure.
