Voting is again open for residents of Stockport to vote on local community projects they would like to see funded by Stockport Homes.
Groups from across the town have applied for grants of up to £1,000 to help plan their activities and fund the valuable work they do in their local areas, as part of the Stockport Homes Community Count initiative.
The funding will be announced at two vibrant family friendly events to be held at Bridgehall Community Centre on Wednesday 29 July (2pm-4pm) and at First House in Brinnington on Wednesday 5 August (2pm-5pm).
The free Community Count events, which will focus on the theme of health and wellbeing in summer, will feature face painting and balloon making, a DJ and plenty more activities for people of all ages.
Roger Phillips, Chair of Stockport Homes Board said: “There’s been a great reception from community groups in the east and west areas of Stockport wanting to get involved and use this funding opportunity to develop the great work that they do.”
He added: “It will be great to see these vital organisations and local people get together at the Community Count events and celebrate all the hard work and volunteering that goes on day in, day out in our borough.”
Online votes can be cast at www.stockporthomes.org/count and in person at the Community Count events.
