The council is currently designing the detailed programme for Stockport’s year as Greater Manchester Town of Culture and want it to provide opportunities for everyone in Stockport to be active and creative. Particularly, they want to design activities that celebrate the people, places and stories of Stockport and are keen to hear from residents about what they would like to see happening during the Town of Culture year.
The first Town of Culture event, Stockport Moves, is set to take place on Sunday, July 2, from 10am, when St Peter’s Square will buzz with activity and fun.
An online survey is now live on the Stockport Council consultations portal here for residents to complete to give their views on how the borough will mark being Greater Manchester Town of Culture for 2023.
