Two polymer companies in Stockport have been bought up by Prisma Colour Ltd.
The Derbyshire-based manufacturer has expanded with the acquisition Emsar Polymers and Adam Polymer Ltd.
Cheadle Hulme-based Emsar Polymers, a supplier of additive masterbatches, will retain its trading name and brand in the wake of the deal, while Bredbury firm Adam Polymer Ltd – a manufacturer and supplier of rubber chemicals – will become Prisma Additives Ltd.
Prisma Colour Ltd’s sales director, Mark Wood, said: “As a company with active sales to over 40 countries we are always looking to add to our already diverse product offering.
“The two recent acquisitions allow us to offer new products through our existing distribution networks, resulting in a stronger Prisma Colour Ltd which is well positioned to excel in an evolving global marketplace.”
Prisma Colour are members of the British Plastics Federation (BPF) which is the leading trade association for the UK Plastics Industry.
Following the double acquisition, Prisma has installed a new mixing and compounding line at its facility in Stalybridge.
Founded in 1991, the Glossop-based company started out manufacturing colour concentrates and today supplies more than 40 countries.
