Stockport’s Plaza is set for the relaunch of its Cafe Restaurant in the amazing 1932 Art Deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre on Monday 3rd November.
Saved by its award winning volunteers in 2000, The Plaza has gone from strength to strength in the heart of Stockport with the very best in live stage and big screen entertainment. The Plaza now also hosts very special events including weddings and birthday parties in one of the jewels in our crown – the magnificent Art Deco Café Restaurant.
The restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday to offer a very special dining experience.
Ted Doan, General Manager of The Plaza explains:
“Since we commenced our extensive restoration of The Plaza we have celebrated our mantra that ‘Every day at The Plaza is October 7th 1932…Our opening day’ and with this in mind we recently rebranded with our ‘PLAZA P’ logo and relaunching our Café Restaurant exactly as she looked in 1932.
“We are tweaking the opening hours so that visitors can enjoy Afternoon Tea and our freshly prepared menu of choice in our sumptuous Cafe Restaurant slightly later on selected days from November 3rd. Our menu is celebrating the most popular choices that are currently selected and speciality salads and chef specials are appearing for the first time.
“As well as changes to the menu and times…this image from opening day on October 7th 1932 will be recreated daily by our Events and Hospitality Manager Vicky Cruse and her team with the addition of linen cloths and white chrysanthemums as pictured, so join us from Monday 3rd November as our Cafe Restaurant relaunches exactly as she was in 1932.”
