A landmark office building in Stockport has proved the source of amusement for its tenants who believed they had a team of Pirate Catchers as neighbours.
Once the largest Cotton Mills in Europe, Broadstone Mill has been transformed to provide a range of commercial space, including for PGI Training who offer range of medical, health & safety and security courses.

“We were amused at the amount of initial confusion amongst other residents as to what it was we actually did and for a while, were known as the ‘Pirate catchers’. This of course has a little element of truth to it as we do indeed provide all the qualifications required to work in the maritime security industry, an industry that was brought to prominence since the rise piracy off of the Somali coast in 2008.
“We have been trading now for over 3 and a half years as both Marsec International and latterly as PGI Training in our office space at Broadstone Mill and have also provided training for Broadstone Mill’s management and other tenants.”
