Outstanding care and dedication in the local NHS was celebrated as Stockport NHS Foundation Trust held its annual Making A Difference Every Day awards on the evening of Friday 11th October.
The event was at Stockport Town Hall, with the awards of the evening hosted by local Greatest Hits Radio presenter Andy Crane.
The Making A Difference Every Day awards recognised excellence in both Stepping Hill Hospital and local community NHS services, and included a celebration dinner and disco for everyone shortlisted.
Staff from across Stockport’s NHS were among those shortlisted, as well as volunteers and members of the public who have led on fundraising for Stockport NHS Charity. The awards were nominated by both fellow colleagues within Stockport’s NHS and members of the public.
The celebrations were funded by sponsorship from local companies and from Stockport NHS Charity.
The evening’s wine sponsors were CDW and Brodericks, while category sponsors were NHS Professionals, Meel Group Projects, Brakes, Greiner, People Alchemy, IVS, CACI, Ricoh UK Ltd, BT and Paul Bentley Wholesalers. Additional sponsors were Intersurgical, Griffiths & Armour and Queensland Bakery.
The awards were presented by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Interim Chair Dr Marisa Logan-Ward and Chief Executive Karen James OBE, together with representatives of the sponsors. Karen James said:
“This evening was a marvellous celebration of the amazing care which our health services provide and a great insight into some of the individuals and teams who go above and beyond.
