Stockport Museums and Archives are looking to collect items to document the history of 2020 for the people of Stockport.
During the year so far, so much has happened in the Stockport community, and local museums want to record and represent the diverse range of experiences people have had. Items could be anything relating to health, social and political issues, to work, volunteering, leisure and play time.
Stockport Museums and Archives are looking to add objects, images and stories to their collections, and should there be a strong enough response, put together an online exhibition.
Councillor Kate Butler, Cabinet Member for Citizen Focus at Stockport Council, said:
We have all been on our own journey over the last few months and capturing people’s experiences of this unique moment in history is so important. Everyone has their own personal story to tell so please do get in touch and help us create something really special for Stockport.”
If you have anything you wish to contribute to the collection, please email the SK2020 team and help record 2020 – a year which will be remembered for so many reasons.
