Stockport Jobs Fair includes opportunities at Manchester Airport

Stockport Jobs Fair takes place on September 20, bringing together companies with jobs they are looking to fill, and organisations offering employment advice and guidance.

A free information session will also be run at the event for anyone wanting to find out more about the job opportunities available at Manchester Airport, as well as the pre-employment training and employment support they offer.

Places at this session, which is taking place between 11am and 12 noon, are limited so booking is advised.

Organised by Stockport Council and Jobcentre Plus, the Jobs Fair has proven very successful in matching employers with their future employees over recent years and it is hoped this year will be even more successful.

Councillor Alex Ganotis, Leader of Stockport Council, said: “I am pleased to be attending this year’s Jobs Fair and would encourage any residents who may be looking for work to come along and find out about jobs that are available that they could fill.”

Councillor Kate Butler, Executive Member for Economy & Regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “Getting the right help and advice as you look for work or the next step in their career is vital. The Jobs Fair provides a great way for local people to get this all in one place. It is a great event that I would highly recommend. ”

Elaine Walshe, Employer and Partnership Manager for Jobcentreplus, said: “We are committed to supporting unemployed people and helping them get back into work.

“Building on the success of the last 12 months where we have seen a substantial reduction in the number of unemployed people, the Jobs Fair is another example of how we are working with our partners and local businesses to encourage more people into employment or training.”

Stockport Jobs Fair is at Stockport Town Hall is on Tuesday, September 20, from 10am to 2pm at Stockport Town Hall.
