Stockport Homes has been named in the Stonewall Top 100 LGBTQ+ inclusive employers for its work creating a workplace where LGBTQ+ employees can bring their full selves to work.
Stonewall, Europe’s largest charity for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer rights, has today, 16th February, launched its widely anticipated Top 100 Employers List. The 2023 list recognises exceptional employers who are committed to supporting their LGBTQ+ staff and customers.
Stockport Homes was praised for our work creating a workplace where LGBTQ+ employees can bring their full selves to work, as well as for LGBTQ+ residents.
Stockport Homes joins a number of construction, legal, health, finance and education firms who made the annual Top 100 list of LGBTQ+ inclusive employers.
Creating inclusive environments makes the workplace safer and better for everyone – not just LGBTQ+ people. Jenny Osbourne, Chair of Stockport Homes Board, said:
‘We are delighted to have placed in a Top 100 position for the second time and to have received a Gold Award status. It is important to SHG that we ensure we are an inclusive, welcoming organisation with a commitment to eradicating homophobic, biphobic and transphobic behaviour. We couldn’t have achieved this without the great work of our Proud Colleague LGBTQ+ group and Houseproud NW (the North West network for LGBTQ+ people working in housing) and its Rainbow Roofs group for LGBTQ+ customers living in social housing.’
