Carecall response service has launched a new universal offer giving Stockport residents access to 24/7 falls support, thanks to Carecall’s new technology enabled living service.
Carecall’s service will support Stockport Council’s vision to enable the population to live well at home.
As of January 2020, Carecall have launched a new universal offer to anyone living in Stockport, which provides them with un-capped access to a 24/7 ‘monitoring and falls response service’ and provides them with all the technology they need to stay safe and independent at home. This will help to reduce the strain on other Health and Social care services across Stockport and enable the person to self-manage their own care needs.
The easy to use and discreet technology is installed free of charge with every membership and each customer receives an alarm unit and pendant which can be worn in a number of ways. Carecall can also provide those assessed as requiring further support with technology such as a ‘fall detector’, ‘radio linked smoke detector’ or ‘property exit sensors’ depending on their specific needs.
This technology can reliably alert the Carecall team if a customer needs emergency support other than just for a fall at home. Whatever the emergency, the Carecall dedicated team will work with the customer to reassure them and organise a quick and appropriate response.
If a Stockport resident subscribes to Carecall’s ‘Monitoring and Falls
Response’ service and has fallen but is not injured, Carecall’s local team will
travel to their home to get them back on their feet using specialist lifting
equipment which safely manoeuvres the lift. They will do this no matter the
time, day or night, as the service operates 24hrs a day. If a resident is
injured, Carecall will call them an ambulance and follow up to ensure they’re safe,
notifying family or friends as necessary.
Carecall’s telemonitoring and response offering is a Stockport Council service that is delivered in partnership with Stockport Homes and has been operating in the borough since 1984. The new 24 hour service is a huge change for this long established institution.
Jenny Osbourne, Chair of the Board at Stockport Homes, said:
“The team at Stockport Homes are so proud to deliver Carecall’s technology enabled living service on behalf of Stockport Council. This will help not only our Stockport Home tenants but all Stockport residents, to live well at home and stay independent for as long as possible – we all feel privileged to contribute to the community in this way.”
