Stockport Homes Group has launched its annual gardening competition for its residents.
With growing popularity for gardening during the coronavirus lockdown as more people value their outside spaces, the housing group are hoping this years’ competition will attract both veteran gardeners and those with newly-found green fingers.
Jenny Osbourne, Chair of Stockport Homes’ Board said,
“There has never been a more poignant moment for us to discover the benefits of surrounding ourselves with our favourite plants. We are calling all of our community to enter; whether you have an established lustrous flower garden, or you are a newbie to gardening, I look forward to seeing the entries this year – good luck to everyone!”
The annual gardening competition is open to all tenants, leaseholders or household members of Stockport Homes. Even if you are not a keen gardener yourself, you could nominate someone else – there are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the following categories:
- Best individual garden
- Best communal garden (Please remember to follow guidance and practice social distancing)
- Best container or hanging basket
- Best fruit / vegetable garden
To enter the gardening competition or nominate someone else, please complete the online form on the Stockport Homes website. The closing date for entries is Sunday 5th July, and winning entries can win up to £400 in vouchers.
