Managed print service provider Midshire® has boosted the performance at a Stockport fitness group by modernising its print capabilities with the latest innovative solutions.
Registered charity Life Leisure, named the UK’s best fitness group at a recent award ceremony, has seen all twelve of its Stockport leisure centres fitted with state-of-the-art Sharp multifunction printers and PaperCut print monitoring software.
As Life Leisure’s 15 original machines, provided by Midshire 7 years ago, were coming to the end of their lease, IT Sales Manager Stuart Carruthers carried out a free print audit, concluding that both overhead and running costs could be condensed by reducing the fleet to 13 brand new, eco-friendly Sharp devices.
All machines have been installed with secure, GDPR compliant PaperCut software, meaning staff can rest assured in the knowledge that only they can print the documents they send to the print queue; no unauthorised personnel can access confidential documents.
Adelle Izzard, Systems Manager at Life Leisure says:
“In the entire 7 years that we’ve known Stuart and worked with Midshire there has never been any disappointment in the service received. When Stuart told me Midshire wanted to save us even more money by actually reducing the number of printers we had with more efficient ones I was obviously thrilled. Their engineers will proactively maintain the machines too, so we’re never unable to print!”
Established in 2002 as the Stockport Sports Trust, over 500 Life Leisure employees provide 350 weekly studio classes, gymnasiums, and swimming pools to thousands of people across the Stockport area.
The award-winning leisure operator also provides many other sports, community programmes and post-workout amenities, including beauty services, physiotherapy, and massage from sports specialists.
Stuart Carruthers comments:
“This installation, which was carried out over one weekend period, was unique due to the centres demanding 7-day schedule. We had to get each site up and running in a short window of time, so we preconfigured all of the machines beforehand so that the devices simply needed to be plugged in, with no need for on-site networking.”
When talking about the new devices, Stuart adds:
“They’re quicker and much more affordable, and with the addition of PaperCut, we’ve forecast a further 30% saving on their annual print spend!”
Life Leisure has 12 fitness centres in the Borough of Stockport, including sites at Avondale, Grand Central, Hazel Grove, Houldsworth Village, and Stockport Sports Village.
