Stockport based fintech and virtual payments provider, Conferma Pay has appointed former Mastercard executive, Sonya Geelon, as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Sonya joins Conferma Pay from her previous role as Senior Vice President UK & Ireland and Country Manager Ireland for Mastercard, and boasts 25 years within the industry. In her role, she will focus on further developing the fintech’s customer-centric approach and ensuring the business continues to evolve with the changing needs of the industry.
As CCO, Sonya Geelon will also help to deepen and expand the partnerships that the Stockport fintech has with banks, payment schemes and technology platforms, particularly in the business’s key travel sector base, to improve accessibility of virtual card payments.
Commenting on her new role, Sonya said:

“Sonya’s exceptional leadership and experience paired with the technical expertise already present within the business will allow us to cement our position as the world’s leading payments provider. We’re bringing in experience from outside our organisation and combining it with the amazing talent we already have to create something truly great.”
