The number of options in Stockport to get your autumn booster job or other Covid-19 vaccination doses continues to grow in Stockport.
Borough residents are being invited to take advantage of the fact that more community pharmacies have signed up to the Covid-19 vaccination programme this week, organised by NHS Greater Manchester and Stockport Council.
All adults aged 50, along with frontline health and social care workers, people aged 5 to 49 in a clinical risk group, and people aged 16 to 49 who are carers, are being invited to have the autumn/winter Covid-19 booster. The NHS is offering vaccination to those at greatest risk first with those aged 65 and over able to book now. It’s also not too late for anyone 5+ to get a first or second vaccination, or a booster vaccination for anyone aged 16+.
Anita Rolfe, Director of Health, Quality and Improvement/Deputy Place Lead, One Stockport Health and Care Partnership said:
“This extended offer is great news for Stockport residents. NHS Greater Manchester and Stockport Council have worked hard to make it as convenient as possible to get vaccinated.
“I urge anyone who is eligible, who hasn’t had their latest dose to get it now and encourage their family, friends and colleagues to do so too.”
Cllr Keith Holloway, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, added:
“With more choices of where to get your vaccination available in convenient locations around the borough, and as we move into the seasonal virus months, please help to protect yourself, family and friends by getting the winter Covid-19 booster. It’s also never too late to get a vaccination if you’ve missed any previously
Appointments are available to book via the National Booking Service or by calling 119. Walk-in appointments are also available at some locations: find your nearest vaccination clinic on the Stockport Council website.
The Stockport town centre clinic at One Stockport Hub (OSH), Mersey Square, Stockport, SK1 1RA, is one of the walk-in options available. It’s open every Monday and Tuesday, from 9am to 5pm. On Saturdays it will be open from 9.30am to 3.30pm, but please note it will be closed on Saturday, 8 October.
