Stockport based Shazada Ahmed, a young Manchester born entrepreneur, has beaten a veteran property developer to win a £5,000 prize in the inaugural television series of ‘Beat My Build’.
The programme aired on Channel 4 on the 14th November, after Shazada completely refurbished a 2 bed end-terrace in Openshaw. His hard work and determination paid off and he scooped the cash prize.
Shazada is no stranger to the television screen having previously appeared on the popular BBC 1 programme ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ and has quickly established himself as a successful property renovator.
When not renovating properties, the 23 year old has other business interests including a fast food franchise and a marketing company. All this while he is studying for a law degree after graduating in Management from the University of Manchester !
The young businessman states:
“My success is down to hard work, enthusiasm and drive, motivated by my intention to be able to help my parents and make them proud of me as they have worked extremely hard throughout their lives since they came to the UK from Pakistan. My ultimate mission is for them to enjoy their lives now and not to worry about anything. My father is not only my role model but also a model for many people who know him; his caring nature and determination to help without any discrimination, no matter what their background may be. The fact is I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my parents blessings.”
Shazada is now looking to buy businesses in need of help and turn them around as he has done with the fast food franchise which he took on in 2010. With his business acumen and vision he increased its weekly sales by over 51%.
