Stockport Council is looking to encourage residents to live healthier and more independently for longer by hosting a number of information roadshows.
The ‘Rise to the Challenge’ theme focuses on how simple lifestyle changes can help to reduce the risk of ill-health.
The free events taking place across the borough are as follows:
- Adswood, on Thursday 6th March, 2pm to 4pm – St Gabriel’s Church, Clover Avenue, Adswood Stockport SK3 8QA
- Heaton Moor, on Monday 10th March, 10am to 12noon – St Paul’s Church Hall, St Paul’s Road, Heaton Moor, Stockport SK4 4RY

- Woodley, on Friday 21st March, 10am to 12noon – Woodley Civic Hall, Hyde Road, Woodley, Stockport SK6 1QG
At the events, people can find out about the wide range of advice and information available in Stockport, including keeping safe, living well and getting out and about. There will also be a chance to take part in gentle exercise.
Councillor John Pantall, Executive Member for Health and Well Being, said:
“These roadshows are an ideal way of letting residents know more about the many services that are available to support their health and well being. As well as the Council and local health services, voluntary and community organisations offer key information and support services. It’s important that we all know what simple steps we can take to help to prepare for a healthier and more independent life.”
Free refreshments and a free prize draw will also be held at the event.
