Stockport Council is inviting local businesses, charities and community organisations to make use of free 5 Ways to Feel Good resources designed to improve staff and volunteer wellbeing.
The 5 Ways initiative encourage teams to Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give. They are simple, proven actions that help people feel more positive, more resilient, and more engaged.
Organisations can access a range of free downloadable assets, activity packs, internal communications templates and presentation materials, with printed resources available on request. The suite is designed to work for larger organisations and smaller teams, through both full campaign toolkits and a practical toolbox of quick-start ideas.
A strong wellbeing focus makes business sense: when mental health is supported at work, engagement and productivity rise. Analysis by Deloitte found a £4.70 average return for every £1 invested in mental health.
Cllr Micheala Meikle, Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration and Skills, said:
“What makes the 5 Ways to Feel Good so powerful is how accessible they are. Whether you’re a charity, a small business or a large organisation, these free tools and resources make it easy to build wellbeing into the everyday rhythm of your workplace.
“We’re grateful to all the Stockport organisations who are already joining us on this journey. Their enthusiasm shows that when we work together, we can make a real difference to how people feel at work, and that benefits our whole community, I encourage our business community to give it a try.”
Organisations can explore the free resources and get started via the Healthy Stockport website.
A number of Stockport?based employers are already preparing to use the resources to strengthen their workplace wellbeing offer, including Parently Group.

Kathryn Shuttleworth, CEO, said:
“We’re really pleased to be rolling out the Five Ways to Feel Good across Parently Park. The framework fits naturally with how we already support our people’s wellbeing in practical, meaningful ways.
“Through initiatives like financial health sessions, Simplyhealth membership, mental health first aiders, and the Menolounge — a supportive group for women going through life changes — we’re focused on helping colleagues feel supported both at work and beyond.
“We’ve also run a range of activities around back health, movement, relaxation and healthy eating over time, and the Five Ways gives us a simple structure to build on this work and keep wellbeing part of everyday working life.”
