
The Stockport Pledge Partnership is encouraging local employers to get involved with a range of skills and careers events taking place at schools and colleges across the borough.
The Pledge Partnership enables businesses to work together with educators to provide every young person living, studying and/or working in Stockport with everything they need to succeed in the world of work. With the opportunity to develop employability-related skills and personal qualities whilst in education, there is a choice of employment, training or further education when they leave school.

Primary School Engineering and Manufacturing Inspiration project
6th March, 12:45-15:00 (St.Thomas Stockport) | 16th March, 10:00-14:00 (University of Salford)
Working on a recent successful delivery in Warrington we are looking for support for two days of interactive workshops. You’ll be joining five other businesses linked to the Engineering and Manufacturing sector and deliver up to three (30min) interactive workshops. This is aimed at lifting students (year 6) supporting students life skills development with reference to Skills Builder and provide confidence on both moving on to their next level of education and boosting careers aspirations.
World of Work Mock Interview morning
6th March, 09:50-12:00, Year 9 (Priestnall High School Stockport)
To support a strong and equal careers offer across the Stockport High Schools, The Pledge have offered to support the delivery of Priestnall schools first Mock Interview Morning. We’re looking for employers to support the event and welcome multiple employees from the same organisation, where possible. Students (year 9) will rotate through short mock interviews, giving each the opportunity to take part in up to five practice interviews. By taking part, you’ll help students build confidence, develop communication skills, and gain a genuine insight into the world of work at a key stage in their education.

After Aquinas Post 18 Event
18th March, 15:30-18:30 (Aquinas College)
The Stockport Pledge is supporting Aquinas in inviting a range of local/national employers, apprenticeship providers, gap year organisations and universities to there After Aquinas post-18 options event. Employers will be able to market your opportunities to Year 12 and Year 13 students (up to 2,500 students) and their parents and carers.
Stockport ‘Your Futures’ Fair
30th April, 13:00-17:00 (Cheadle College)
We are pleased to invite Employers, Support Services and Training Providers to our second ‘Your Futures’ Fair. As a partnership, The Pledge is collaborating Special Needs students with an Education, Health and Care Plan and/ or additional needs; Young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET. The fair will be organised similarly to that of the standard careers fairs, with Stockport secondary schools, Colleges and Special Schools being invited to attend particular slots during the day for students to meet employers and engage in interactive activities. It is then open to Parents and Carers, along with their young person. We are currently looking for Employers for this event as we have significant interest from educators.
