The founder of Stockport company Damar Training has completed a labour of love by publishing a book containing tips and advice on leadership and management for entrepreneurs.
Dale Stafford, 56, who set up Damar in 1980 with her husband Martin and sold it to Fountain Capital in 2006, has included words of wisdom from the likes of Winston Churchill, Buddha, the Hebrew Talmud and Martin Luther in her work, The Book of Job.
Dale, of Marple, Cheshire, who runs The Principle Department, which advises business owners and managers on how to get the most from their staff and their company, has published a limited first edition of 1,000 copies which are being sold via Amazon and her website.
It addresses themes such as teamwork and communication to help improve business performance.
She said: “My passion is small and medium-sized businesses, the people who set them up and run them, advising them on how their behaviour and outlook affects the performance and growth of their companies. The book is full of sayings, proverbs and parables and ideas to help them.
“Whatever business you’re in, you’re in the people business. Your people are your biggest liability or your greatest asset, simply because success or failure rests on how your people perform, including you.”
Dale, a former president of Stockport Chamber of Commerce, set up The Principle Department three years ago and operates nationally using a network of associates.
