Three Stockport creatives, including Grant Mitchell, Creative Director of design agency Future, are riding 60 miles from Manchester to Blackpool by BMX bike to fundraise for a blood cancer charity in memory of a friend.
Grant Mitchell, Creative Director at Future in Shaw Heath, Greg Allen Account Manager at IMA in Bramhall and Jonathan Beech, Motion Designer at Nucleus Global who lives in Shaw Heath are raising money for DKMS, a blood cancer charity. Their support for the charity follows the death of dear friend, Paul Greer, in January this year from a rare form of blood cancer, aged just 50.
Paul was a big BMX fan, so Paul’s friends thought as an extra challenge it would be fitting to ride the 60 miles on his favourite style of bike. They’ll also be bringing an Extra Terrestrial mascot along for the ride in true 1980’s BMX style.

Greg, Grant and Jonathan commented:
“After Paul’s untimely passing earlier this year, we felt like we had to do our bit to raise some money for DKMS, a charity close to Paul’s heart. He was such a great bloke, talented designer and loved life. We actually did the Manchester to Blackpool midnight ride with Paul in 2018, so doing this ride will be quite poignant for us. Paul would’ve loved it.”
The Stockport creatives will complete their BMX challenge on Sunday 10th July. You can show your support at their Just Giving team page where you can donate to either Grant, Greg or Jonathan’s individual pages.
