Stockport County’s official matchday programme has been named joint best in League Two in the Soccer Club Swap Shop Programme Awards.
The annual awards take matchday programmes from all levels of football, from Premier League heavyweights through to non-league clubs, and judges the overall quality of the publication. In League Two, Soccer Club Swap Shop rated the Hatters’ programme as joint winners alongside Grimsby Town.
The win is Stockport County’s 16th award for its programme since the 2015/16 season, with Soccer Club Swap Shop praising the programme for its wide variety of features, including its regular in-depth coverage of the club, historical pieces, and becoming a key part of the matchday experience for County followers.
Soccer Club Swap Shop undertook its first programme awards for the 1991-92 season which proved a successful exercise for the hundreds of clubs that entered and the competition has gone from strength to strength.
Editor Keith Chapman, who has edited the County programme for the past nine seasons, was understandably delighted at the prestigious League Two award:
“We were absolutely thrilled to win the League Two award which is a brilliant achievement everyone at the club can be proud of.
“We have a brilliant, knowledgeable team of writers that produce a mixture of informative and light-hearted articles and this award is a well-deserved recognition for the many hours they put into producing such a good read and make it the best it can possibly be.
“I would also like to thank everyone at County for their support, our designer Daniel Parker from Duplexity Artwork, our printers Triple P Marketing and our supporters who regularly provide feedback and buy a programme.
“We’ve set a high standard but the challenge moving forward is to keep providing a programme that is interesting to read and provides value for money.”
Work is already underway to get the upcomming season’s programme ready, with a new look in the pipeline as Stockport County prepares to return to League One for the 2024/25 season.
