Stockport County goalkeeper celebrated with special edition gin

Stockport Gin has announced the release of Ben Hinchliffe’s Testimonial Gin, a special edition spirit created in partnership with the Stockport County goalkeeper.

The gin will celebrate his testimonial year and over a decade of service to the football club. Following a sold-out launch event that will take place at Bask on 22nd June, Ben Hinchliffe’s Testimonial Gin will go on sale on 23rd June.

As part of the project, a donation from every bottle sold will go to Ben’s Testimonial Fund that also helps support his chosen charity, BeeU, helping to fund mental health, wellbeing and anti-bullying initiatives within schools and communities.

Ben worked closely alongisde Stockport Gin founders, Paul and Cheryl Sharrocks, throughout the creation process to produce a gin that reflects his personal tastes. The result is a smooth, fruit-forward London Dry Gin featuring vibrant berry notes balanced against classic juniper, delivering a crisp and refreshing finish. The gin combines traditional craft distilling techniques with a modern flavour profile, creating a spirit that is approachable, versatile and full of character.

Paul Sharrocks, co-founder of Stockport Gin, said:

“When Ben approached us about creating a testimonial gin, we couldn’t say no. As huge County fans ourselves, Ben’s become synonymous with the club and has given so much to the club and the local community over the years.

“We wanted to create something that genuinely reflected Ben and wasn’t simply a commemorative bottle with a different label. Ben was involved throughout the development process, tasting samples and helping us shape the final flavour profile. We’re delighted with the finished gin and the response from supporters has been incredible.”

Following the launch event, Ben Hinchliffe’s Testimonial Gin will go on general sale from 10am on Tuesday 23rd June. The gin will be available both online via the Stockport Gin website and in person from the Stockport Gin Distillery Shop in Stockport Town Centre.
