2023 marks the 140th anniversary of Stockport County Football Club and club has plans to celebrate the occasion in style with a family fun day on Saturday 29th July.
The event will coincide with a pre-season friendly against Preston North End and promises a party atmosphere at SK3. There will be plenty on offer for the Hatters’ young supporters, including a bouncy castle, fun fair stalls, candy floss and popcorn – not to mention the chance to watch Stockport County wrap up the club’s pre-season campaign.
As usual, there will be more mouth-watering food on offer in the County Courtyard with loaded nachos and bratwurst available from streetfood stalls.
A host of County legends past and present will be joining revellers at Edgeley Park on the day to celebrate their place in the club’s long and illustrious history, with Alan Ogley, Mike Flynn, Oshor Williams and Les Chapman already confirmed as special guests – and more yet to be confirmed.
For one time only, the team will also be wearing a special, limited edition kit for this game that pays tribute to Stockport County’s formation as Heaton Norris Rovers 140 years ago in 1883. Not only that, there will be a shirt exhibition available for people to view in The 1883, which will feature County shirts from across the eras.
Tickets for the game are available to purchase online now – priced at just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions – from the Stockport County website.
