
Stockport County Football Club has announced the appointment of sports marketing and commercial executive, Matt McKie, as Non-Executive Director.
The strategic appointment aims to continue to fuel the club’s ambitious off-field growth strategy.
McKie has previously held leadership roles at EA Sports FIFA, Nike, The International Olympic Committee and Manchester United, and will bring his experience to the board to support the club’s brand, marketing, and digital operations. His primary focus will be to unlock commercial revenue growth to support County’s aspirations both on and off the pitch.
This appointment underscores Stockport County’s commitment to continuous improvement across all operations, ensuring the Club is equipped to compete at the highest levels off the pitch and build a strong foundation for continued on-field success.
In his role, McKie will oversee several growth-focused projects, while also actively participating in board meetings and broader strategic discussions. He will also provide coaching and mentorship to the Club’s marketing and commercial staff, supporting the Club in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
