Stockport Council will complete its new 250-year lease for Stockport County to remain at Edgeley Park by the end of April, councillors have agreed.
The council agreed a new lease for the club in 2022, as club progresses with a significant investment into the ground. Improvements made to the pitch, seating, training facilities and the conference and events spaces at Edgeley Park have all already gone ahead since the Club’s purchase by local businessman, Mark Stott, in January 2020.
Stockport Council, which purchased Edgeley Park in 2015, have stipulated that the site should remain for use as a sports stadium within the lease. Future plans for further development at the site include development of Stockport County’s training facilities as the League Two club targets eventual promotion to the Championship.
With improvements continuing to go ahead at Edgeley Park, Stockport County has also announced it will relocate its ticket office while refurbishments to the Cheadle End offices progress.
From Friday 1st March, the clubs’ ticket office will now be based in the County Store on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, operating during the usual opening hours of 10.a.m to 4 p.m. Purchasing online is also being encouraged as the club will be operating with a reduced service of two windows and one collections window. There will be one designated collection window for supporters to collect tickets from on matchdays. Supporters will be able to collect tickets from this window up until kick-off, but are advised to collect tickets midweek or opt for tickets to be posted to them.
