Stockport Council has said ‘we do’ to Fig for a new wedding brand promoting its historic buildings as wedding and civil ceremony venues.
To appeal to more couples locally and further afield, it needed to tie the knot with an agency with branding expertise and a fresh approach to design.
With more than 15 years’ experience working with hospitality businesses including The Devonshire Dome and The Old Hall Hotel in Buxton, FIG was the perfect partner.
FIG’s Becky Handford received a clear brief from the Assistant Events Manager at Stockport Council who wanted a clean, sophisticated brand identity that would allow the venues to shine.

FIG Creative – new branding for Stockport Council’s wedding venues
FIG designer Emma Dixon got to work creating a branding and design package for what would now be known as Stockport Events. She created three different design options for SMBC who said “we do” to the one featuring a mark-style logo which combines the pattern-effect of stained glass with an overhead view of people seated at a table. The colours Emma used are a toned down, softer version of the palette used by Stockport MBC which enables the new brand to sit comfortably within it.
Assistant Events Manager at Stockport MBC said:
“The team at FIG really listened to what we wanted and came up with a brand that perfectly communicates our offering of modern weddings in classic environments. A job extremely well done.”
The new branding is already being used in promotional packs for Stockport Town Hall and Bramhall Hall (for which FIG also designed brochures, pull-up banners and leaflets) and will be rolled out to more venues over the next 12 months.
