Stockport Council’s Civil Contingency Dashboard has been nominated for the Digital Leaders 100 awards in the Geospatial Initiative of the Year category.
The award aims to recognise innovation in this important area of digital transformation, and is open to products and services brought to market or in the public sector. Winners will be announced at the Digital Leaders 100 awards ceremony in June.
The digital tool brings all plans, processes and procedures into one digital place in an innovative, time-critical and digital way to allow the council’s leadership to respond quickly during a crisis or at the scene of an incident. Most recently, the tool allowed the borough to respond professionally, effectively and efficiently during the recent discovery of explosive materials in Reddish.
Mark Glynn, Director of Place Management, Stockport Council, said of the tool on the #DigitalStockport website:
“Having an innovative dashboard with everything in one location is fantastic for all tactical commanders. The design of the new dashboard provides a mechanism for me to uphold the JESIP principles of joint working. This collaboration work is vital for the safety of our residents, and the new mapping overlays and FME tool for vulnerable people are ingenious. Getting a call in the middle of the night and having all of this data and information at your fingertips in such a user-friendly fashion is a great achievement.”
Stockport Council’s Civil Contingency Dashboard is one of ten public sector projects to be a finalist in the Digital Leaders 100 awards’ Geospatial Initiative of the Year category, and Stockport Council is calling on members of the public to support them by voting via the Digital Leaders 100 website.
