Following the flooding of a number of homes and businesses in Stockport in July and August 2019, Stockport Council have commissioned an independent review into the events leading up to the flooding.
Mott MacDonald, a firm of consultants, have been commissioned to look at: – how and why the flooding happened
– recommend what measures should be put in place to help mitigate future flooding
– look at the findings from the 2016 flooding and the actions that were taken / implemented.
Mott MacDonald will review the information received by residents in the aftermath of the flooding.
Following this, the council proposes to organise drop-in sessions for local residents to talk to the consultants in January 2020. The dates of these sessions will be communicated to residents in due course.
