Stockport Carton Company shortlisted in EN awards

Stockport-based packaging company Glossop Cartons has been shortlisted for two prestigious accolades within the 2016 North West Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Now in its 15^th consecutive year, the EN awards celebrate the most established and esteemed owner-managed businesses across the region.

Glossop Cartons is led by Managing Director Brian Sidebottom and a team of three sisters -Jacky Sidebottom-Every, Vicky Every and Jill Woodacre.

The business has been shortlisted for the EN ‘Family Business of the Year’.

The family run team has grown from a small start-up in 1984 with just a handful of employees, to a thriving market-leading packaging company employing almost 100 staff. 

Sales Director Jacky Sidebottom-Every has been nominated for ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ following her success in spearheading the ongoing success of Glossop Cartons by investing heavily in new machinery, including a world-first state-of-the-art cutting machine.

Jacky has led the company’s commitment to developing ground breaking technology within the business which in turn has enabled the company to flourish in recent years.

The shortlisting follows a busy year for the company after it acquired Contact Print and Packaging in November 2015 and relocated from Padfield, Derbyshire to Contact’s modern facility in Stockport.

The company strengthened its credentials within the food and pharmaceutical packaging market, most recently adding an AA graded BRC Packaging Accredited award to its quality assured achievements. The business has recently taken on a number of new contracts and appointed five new locally-based employees at its headquarters in Reddish.

The 2016 North West Entrepreneur of the Year Awards ceremony takes place on the 3^rd November at Mere Golf & Spa Resort in Knutsford, and brings together over 500 of the most successful business leaders, corporate advisors and investors in the region to celebrate entrepreneurial success.
