Stockport Council is currently undertaking a programme of carriageway repairs across the borough.
Resurfacing work will take place from the junction of Edgeley Road to Europa Way in Edgeley and will be carried out in the following phases:
- Phase 1 – Edgeley Road to Railway Bridge. Work starts on 27th January and will take up to two weeks to complete. It will be necessary to close the road for part of the work due to its width on three consecutive Sundays from approximately 8.00am to 6.00pm. Signed diversions will be in operation. During the week work will continue with the use of two-way temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
- Phase 2 – Railway Bridge to Europa Way. Work starts on 4th February and will take around a week to complete. The work will be carried out overnight during the week with the use of two-way temporary traffic signals between 8.00pm and 6.00am.
Access to properties located within the works area will be limited during work times. Information signs have been erected on site and property owners who may be directly affected have received a letter outlining the scope of the work and the timescales involved.
