Stockport businesses are invited to explore how they can support young people into the workplace at the next meeting of the borough’s Proper Good Business Club.
How do employers attract the next generation into the workplace? In particular, those who may get overlooked due to the challenges life has thrown them. How can we offer them an opportunity to earn a living, whilst supporting them through their challenges?
The next Stockport Proper Good Business Club meet will bring together business and social enterprises in the borough with local charities to consider the answer to these questions.
Stockport’s Proper Good Business Club is a space for local businesses and Socially Enterprising organisations to come together to discover ways of working together, to ultimately benefit people, place and planet. The club’s next meeting will take place at The Parently Group’s offices on Bredbury Park Industrial Estate on Thursday, February 13, 9am – 12pm.
The event will focus on supporting young people into the workplace, with insight from:
- P.I.E – a local Social Enterprise working with NEET (not in employment, education or training) individuals
- Pure Insight – a local charity who work with care leavers
- EGG – a local charity who work with people who are without housing
The event will conclude with a panel discussion from businesses sharing their experience of apprenticeships, internships and work experience, with contributions from CDL and The Parently Group.
