Stockport businesses are invited to explore how they can work together with the Council and education providers in the borough to support young people to thrive in the workplace.
On Thursday, 20 June, 9-11.45am, Stockport Council will host the Stockport Pledge launch event for businesses to express their support to young people in people and commit to helping ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the workplace and improve their prospects, and meet employers’ skills needs.
The Pledge aims to bring together all the great work that is already happening in the borough to allow employers and educators to come together to maximise the work that is already happening, bringing efficiencies, clearer visibility and signposting of what is happening within the region and sharing of best practice.
At the event Stockport Council will bring together education and skills providers and business leaders to reflect on all the great work that is already happening and then to pledge commitment to doing more. The morning’s agenda will include:
- Inspiring stories from local education providers and businesses
- Ways in which your institution or business can get involved and the support available, including work experience
- Networking opportunities with like-minded individuals who share your passion for empowering young people
