Stockport businesses are being invited to learn how they can support colleagues going through menopause via a free training project being led by mental health charity, Stockport and District Mind and other Mind branches across Greater Manchester.
Research conduct prior to the coronavirus pandemic found women aged 50+ were the fastest growing segment of the UK workforce. Despite this, the CIPD has found that 59% of working women reported the menopause having a negative impact on them at work, and fewer than 10% of those going through the menopause feeling supported by their employer.
Employees, volunteers or placement workers within SMEs can attend the 90 minute online Menopause Awareness Training, which gives participants the information and knowledge they need to navigate or support people in this important, transitional life stage. Course content will include:
- The effect of falling hormones and the range of symptoms that they can cause
- When it happens, how long it can last
- What can help
- How you can support a friend or colleague
- The positives!
Attendees will also receive an e-resource pack containing additional information and links to further support available.
Upcoming sessions will take place on January 16th and February 8th at 9.30am. Stockport Mind can also offer ace-to-face sessions for up to 16 people for any companies or organisations who may be interested.
