Businesses in Stockport are being invited to register their business to take part in Small Business Saturday on 4th December 2021.
The annual event helps to raise awareness of independent businesses and support consumers and larger organisations to shop locally and support small businesses in their area. Last year’s event saw £1.1 billion spent with small businesses on Small Business Saturday in 2020, with 15.4 million people choosing to ‘shop small.’
By registering with the campaign, businesses in Stockport can have their location shown on a map on the Small Business Saturday website, helping them be found by customers specifically looking for a local, independent supplier throughout the year. Through a longstanding partnership with American Express, customers making purchases at registered businesses with Amex credit cards will also be able to get £5 credit on purchases over £10, encouraging shoppers to make a purchase and spend more with local businesses.
Businesses in Stockport are also encouraged to make the most of a boost in trade on 4th December and host their own Small Business Saturday events, special offers or discounts to help encourage future regular business from customers.
Small Business Saturday is now in its 9th year in the UK, after launching in the US in 2010 and is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, as well seeking to champion small businesses throughout the year on social media.
