
Stockport based hair and beauty supplies wholesaler, Alan Howard, have announced a growth in sales for the year up to the end of February 2019.
The company, which operates stores across the UK, announced a £1.4 million increase in turnover to £38.8 million, and predict sales will continue to rise.
The Stockport headquartered beauty wholesaler opened an additional store in Sheffield in February 2019, relocated the Bolton store to Bury, which has led to a slight dip in pre-tax profits. The business has also invested in own-brand products and increased staff levels, in order to generate the uplift in sales.
Pre-tax profits dipped from £2.6 million, to £1.14 million, while gross profits were up £0.5 million to £16.6 million.
The Stockport beauty wholesaler is now looking to expand further, and is eyeing up opportunities in the coming months. Directors are planning further relocations of stores into more modern locations, as well as expanding its sales teams to bring on new brands, and their own label products.
Established in 1973 by Alan Crawford and Howard Littler, beauty wholesaler, Alan Howard, has its headquarters in Stockport, where it also has a retail store. The company supplies a host of products, electricals, equipment and designer salon furnishings across the UK.
