There is still time to join in Merseyway shopping centre’ s campaign to encourage Stockport’s shoppers to dispose of their Christmas cards and wrapping paper responsibly, as the centre continues its 2013 recycling initiative of the new year.
Running throughout the month of January,
Christmas Card Recycling Month at Merseyway will
see special recycling bins situated throughout the
centre for shoppers to recycle their cards and
wrapping paper.
All cards will be gathered for a final weigh-in at the end of the month, establishing the positive environmental effects the initiative aims to achieve with the help of Merseyway’s shoppers.
Merseyway shopping centre anticipates a popular response to the initiative, as January is predicted to be a busy month for the centre with shoppers seeking bargains in Boxing Day sales from Merseyway’s array of retailers.
Brendan Webb, Centre Manager at Merseyway said: “After a successful Christmas period we are excited to celebrate the start of 2013 with an initiative which benefits the environment. We believe that Merseyway’s shoppers will help to make the initiative a great achievement and help drive the green message for Stockport.”
