Stockport Council run Bramall Hall will star as the backdrop for a brand new TV drama.
The ITV drama is called ‘The Making of a Lady’ and is an adaptation of the novel The Making of a Marchioness by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It is due to be broadcast at 8.00pm on Sunday 16th December. The drama features Lydia Wilson, Linus Roach, James D’Arcy and Joanna Lumley.
Councillor Iain Roberts, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said “We are delighted that one of the Council’s best loved tourist attractions Bramall Hall has been chosen to feature as the backdrop for this brand new historic drama. We hope that by seeing the Hall on the TV it will encourage even more people to visit it.”
Bramall Hall is a magnificent black and white timber framed Tudor manor house with Victorian additions. Its history spans six centuries and it is set in 70 acres of beautiful parkland.
Visitors to the Hall are given unique insight into the lives of the families and servants who have lived and worked at the Hall. Amongst other things that you can see are some wonderful examples of interior design by prolific Arts and Crafts Furniture designer George Faulkner Armitage.
