Stockport charity St Ann’s is calling for businesses to take on The Accumulator – a unique fundraising challenge this Autumn.
The Accumulator is the latest money-raising project from St Ann’s Hospice, and is pitched as a Dragons’ Den meets The Apprentice fundraiser.
Participating businesses will each be given £100 and challenged to turn it into the most profit over a month long period. Teams of up to ten people, supported by St Ann’s Accumulator Aces, will compete throughout October with the aim of becoming The Ultimate Accumulator.

Teams can choose to spend the initial capital of £100 as they see fit – as long as it’s legal – and reinvest or put all their money behind one big activity.
Eamonn O’Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s, said:
“This is the third year of the challenge and we’re excited to see what this year’s teams come up with.
“We’d love as many local businesses to join in as possible, and it’s really up to teams how much time they dedicate to it, and what they choose to do.
“Last year, some businesses decided to form multiple teams across different departments so were not only competing externally to try and win The Ultimate Accumulator, but were also competing internally as well. However people choose to get involved, we’re hugely grateful.”
Last year’s challenge included 40 teams from local estate agents, solicitors, banks, housing associations, and a digital agency, and raised £27,500 for St Ann’s. Stockport Homes accumulated the most money and were crowned The Ultimate Accumulator.
This year’s challenge is sponsored by OnThe7th and Swizzels.
