St Ann’s Hospice are once again singing the praises of their Festival Choir which has raised almost £29,000 over the last 12 months.
Their achievements were celebrated at a sell out summer concert at Stockport town hall which included a performance by Bramhall opera singer Anna-Clare Monk.
The Festival Choir, which has more than 180 members, has raised more than £650,000 for the charity since it was formed 22 years ago.
Their latest donation will be used to pay for the cost of clinical care at the three hospice sites on December 13 and June 16 as part of the charity’s Pay For A Day scheme (www.sah.org.uk)
Conductor John Pomphrey said:
“It’s been another wonderful year for the choir, raising even more more money than last year. It costs about £13,000 a day to provide clinical care and we’re delighted to help our patients in this way.”
Anna-Clare will also be performing at the Christmas music and carols concert on Friday, December 12, hosted again by Coronation Street actress Sue Nicholls. Ticket details to follow.
