The gym offers monthly membership from £17 and can take new users for free through a means-tested local council scheme as the outfit ‘tries to take away barriers between people becoming healthy.
The David Hopkins Foundation
The foundation was set up in memory of David Hopkins OBE who was a well known figure in the Stockport Community and was a long serving Chairman of the Stockport Sports Trust T/A Life Leisure Board before he died in 2009 following a long fight against cancer.
The David Hopkins Foundation supports sport and sports clubs across Stockport and accepts applications from any individual, group or organisation in Stockport for funding that will benefit their sports club and help make a difference to the provision of sport and physical activity, enabling more children and adults from any background to become more active and participate in their chosen activity.
LifeLEISURE is a registered trust and charity and an increasingly important part of the Stockport landscape as a business, an employer and as a community service provider employing 600 staff. Life Leisure is proud of its strong working relationship with Stockport Council and hopes to continue to impact positively on local people’s lives locally in Stockport.
