
SKylight, part of Stockport Homes Group, has been named ‘Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative’ at this year’s Housing Heroes Awards.
The Housing Heroes Awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the sector, sharing learning from teams and individuals within the housing sector.
SKylight is a charitable organisation within Stockport Homes Group which strives itself on making a difference in the community; its activities in the borough including a furniture recycling project and holiday club for young people. The organisation supports residents across Stockport from the age of 11, right through to the over 80’s. It’s joined up approach with partners from across Stockport and Greater Manchester ensures a wide range of support services can be delivered.
The SKylight team has won the award for its holistic health and wellbeing support for residents in the Borough in a time of increasing need and diminishing resources.
Commenting on the award win, Roger Phillips, Chair of SKylight, said:
“This is a huge honour to have won ‘Best Health and Wellbeing initiative’, supporting customer of all ages with their health and wellbeing is one of our top priorities, so to be recognised for all the work our services do to support our communities is fantastic. Well done to all.”
Natalie James, a Neighbourhood Housing Officer at Stockport Homes, was also named ‘Inspirational Colleague of the Year’ at the awards ceremony, which took place on 26th June at Manchester Central.
