From December, powdair will operate a new route to fly skiers from Manchester to Sion at the heart of the Alps!
powdair, a brand new airline operating into the heart of Switzerland’s most popular winter sports region, has announced it will be operating two flights a week from Manchester to Sion in the Valais region of Switzerland.
The airline, that commences flights from December 2017 onwards, will significantly cut transfer times to some of Switzerland’s most popular ski resorts for winter sports enthusiasts with prices averaging at around £140 each way including ski carriage.
Manchester Airport will have flights departing on Thursdays and Saturdays – every week, commencing on Saturday 16th December, 2017.

“Following a period of consultation between our management team and by popular demand from our market research, we are delighted to announce that Manchester Airport will serve our route to Sion, Switzerland this winter.
“We know there’s a healthy community of skiers and snowboarders in the North West region and many people we spoke to were excited at the prospect of flying into the heart of the Alps, to an airport not currently serviced by anyone else.”

powdair is a brand new airline operating into the heart of Switzerland’s most popular winter sports region, the Valais.
With direct routes from UK, Belgian and German airports into the region’s capital Sion, transfers to many of the areas ski resorts including Saas Fee, Verbier, Nendaz, Zermatt, Crans-Montana, Zinal-Grimentz, Leukerbad and Anzère will be significantly cut compared to other airports in the country.
The airline is based in the city of Sion and will be running routes six days a week, from December 14th, 2017 onwards, to Luton, Southend, Southampton, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK as well as Antwerp (Belgium) and Hamburg (Germany)
Flight times are typically between 1 hour 25 minutes and 2 hours from the UK airports.
