Simply Books of Bramhall in Cheshire has been judged Independent Retailer of the Year at the Stockport Business Awards.
The awards, set up this year to celebrate business excellence in the town, were open to all retail sectors in the borough and employed a customer vote to decide the final winners.
“The fact that a bookshop has won this award for us is a great justification that despite the current trends in bookselling, a bookshop can still triumph,” said a spokeswoman for Simply Books, run by Andrew Cant and Sue Steel.
