Stockport-based auction house, Simon Charles Auctioneers & Valuers will host an open day for businesses on 28th November. The event aims to show how businesses can benefit from selling aged stock through an auction house.
Simon Charles Auctioneers & Valuers specialise in selling on surplus stock and customer returns through both online and live auctions. The auction house partner with both high-street and online retailers to move end-of-line goods and surpluses, so around 12,000 items are auctioned every week, to their 160,000 registered shoppers.
Sharlene Rothwell, from Simon Charles Auctioneers & Valuers, said:
The average prices per square ft of warehouse space range from £6 to £15. For that reason, stockpiling can prove to be extremely cost-inefficient for businesses. Our auctions are one of the ways for businesses to save money on renting large warehouses and also make money on items that might have not ever been sold or would have to be disposed of.
“The aim of our open day is to speak to businesses about what we do, with no obligation, no business names need to be stated. Everyone is welcomed and our auctioneers are here to answer any questions.”
The open day will take place on 28th November between 11am and 1pm and detail how the auction house operates and highlight the business case for using this channel to sell unwanted stock.
Simon Charles Auctioneers & Valuers hosts 20 online auctions each week, with a live furniture auction every Thursday, and a large live auction featuring a mix of all items on alternate Saturdays from their Bredbury premises.
The auction house recently organised the auction of the Stockport Frogs, which raised over £30,000 for Stepping Hill Hospital’s children’s ward.
