Senior appointment and promotion boost Azets North West leadership

Azets, the UK top 10 accountancy and advisory Group, has appointed a new Director and made an internal promotion within its North West offices.

Becca Murdoch (pictured, left) has joined Azets as a Director of Tax, bringing more than 20 years of specialist experience in R&D tax relief. She began her career in industry, where she was instrumental in introducing the R&D scheme at BAE Systems within the Military Aircraft division. After moving into practice, she further developed her expertise at KPMG, managing claims across a diverse range of sectors, from ice cream manufacturing to nuclear containment.

Outside of work, Rebecca serves as a trustee for three local charities, reflecting Azets’ purpose of supporting and strengthening communities. She will be based at Azets’ Lancaster office.

Joe Hughes (right) has been promoted to Audit Director at Azets, having been with the firm for over 12 years, when he joined as a qualified audit senior. He manages a diverse portfolio across industries, including manufacturing, technology, freight, and consultancy for major sporting events.

Joe has worked with both owner-managed businesses and large international groups, earning a reputation for strategic thinking, reliability, and excellent client service. He will be based at Azets’ Burnley office, where he will lead the local audit team while also supporting the wider regional network of offices, including in Stockport.
