A second phase of consultation for the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road will be open from Monday 3 June to allow residents, businesses and road users to give their views on the emerging preferred scheme.
The second phase of consultation follows the first phase, which took place between the 22 October 2012 and 25 January 2013 and asked for views on the overall scheme and more specific information on different junction options along the proposed route.
Approximately 9,000 people submitted responses during the first phase of consultation. Following analysis of the feedback, Stockport Council, along with its partners Cheshire East and Manchester City councils have revised proposals to develop an emerging preferred scheme.
The second phase of consultation will run until 19 July.
The three councils are committed to ensuring that anyone with an interest in the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road has an opportunity to comment on the proposals.
Once the results of the second phase of consultation have been analysed, the final design for the scheme will be considered by the three authorities.
A planning application for the scheme is programmed to be submitted in September 2013.
