Seashell Trust receives grant from Million Dollar Round Table Foundation

Seashell Trust has been awarded a $5,000 (£3,800) grant from the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation to continue its outreach work supporting families of children and young people with complex needs.

The Million Dollar Round Table Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities, through its global grants programs. This year, foundation will award over $1 million in grants to more than 200 charitable organisations worldwide.

Seashell Trust, based in Cheadle Hulme, specialises in educating and caring for children and young people who additionally cannot communicate verbally. It also reaches out to help other families access the charity’s expertise even if their children don’t attend the trust’s special school or college.

Dominic Tinner, Head of Fundraising at the charity, said:

“Thanks to the grant from the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, MDRT, Seashell Trust will now be able to host more free training sessions and workshops for parents and carers of children and young people with the most complex needs. All too often they struggle to find the best support for their child because of the isolation having a disabled child can cause.”

Representing the MDRT Foundation, Sandro Forte visited the charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, to present the grant.

“Having visited Seashell Trust, it became immediately obvious of the vital role the charity plays in supporting not only those who attend its Outstanding (Ofsted) special school and its specialist college but also the many other families from across the region who rely on its support to meet the very complex needs of their children.”
