The Seashell Trust is celebrating 60 years at its Cheadle Hulme campus with a 60-mile cycle challenge. The route will take in glorious Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside, with 15 and 30-mile courses for those with less stamina.
Dominic Tinner, from the charity for profoundly disabled children and young people, said:
“The entry fee is £20 with no limit on how much can be raised with sponsorship. Cycling is a superb activity for our own physically disabled young people as it increases their muscle strength and mobility and improves their co-ordination and visual awareness. In recent years we have managed to raise funds for a number of specially adapted trikes and side-by-side bikes so that our visually impaired young people can experience the thrill of cycling.”
