Marketing Stockport member, Stockport Business & Innovation Centre are working to support one of their tenants, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester, who are to host this year’s prestigious national Boxing event at Gorton Monastery, Manchester, 29th November 2018.
The National Boxing Championships Finals event is one of the most long-standing amateur youth Boxing Championships, having been organised for over 100-years. The event is the only UK-wide Youth Boxing Championships and attracts upwards of 2,000 entries from both male and female boxers.
Former competitors include Ricky and Matthew Hatton, Tyson and Hughie Fury, Prince Naseem and John Conteh amongst many others. However, not all the boxers mentioned managed to win a NABGC Championship – such has been the quality of the competition.
Stockport Business & Innovation Centre has been keen to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester with this event as all funds raised will ultimately support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester & their network of youth clubs across all the communities of Greater Manchester, to provide positive activities to over 7,000 young people.
In addition, it will allow them to continue to offer training, support and advice for the 500 volunteers that help to keep those clubs and projects open and accessible to young people.
Anyone interested in attending or supporting the event should contact Andy Hamill via activities@bgcgm.org.uk for information on how to get involved. Corporate packages will be available for businesses.
